Bruce Stevenson’s Directors
Edward worked as a Chartered Surveyor prior to joining Bruce Stevenson in 1996 to specialise in estate/property insurance.
He was appointed Managing Director in 2001 and has developed Bruce Stevenson primarily focusing on areas where it is possible to differentiate and by building the company’s expertise and brand as specialists in chosen areas.
Bruce Stevenson was appointed Chartered Broker Status in 2010 and is a founding member of UNA - Edward is also a Director of UNA.
Fine wines, dining and country pursuits are amongst some of Edward’s hobbies and interests.
Andrew joined Bruce Stevenson in 2010. Responsible for the growth of the Commercial business, Andrew also heads up the Social Housing Team, which is a growing part of the business.
Andrew has over 35 years’ experience as an Insurance Broker and worked across key sectors of the insurance industry throughout his career.
Away from work, Andrew relaxes by cooking and playing golf.
Derek has worked in the insurance industry since 1987. Since then he has held a number of director roles at leading insurance brokers before joining Bruce Stevenson as Renewable Energy Director.
With extensive knowledge and expertise in arranging commercial and corporate insurance programmes, Derek’s focus in recent years has been within the renewable energy sector where he has led the Bruce Stevenson team to become the prominent insurance advisor to the UK renewable energy industry.
Derek is a keen road cyclist which he finds less frustrating than golf. He is also a regular at Aberdeen FC games with his youngest daughter.
Mark has overall responsibility for Finance, Property, IT and HR. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant, having trained at PWC London, and has extensive insurance experience.
Mark’s career has seen him operate at a senior level with Lloyds brokers, prior to returning to Scotland.
Mark enjoys cycling and swimming with his three beautiful daughters and a game of squash at The Grange, Edinburgh.
Mark has extensive experience in the Fine Art and Antiques world, having been Managing Director of Bonhams Scotland and Director of the Valuations Department.
Mark also sits on the Council for the Historic Houses Association Scotland and is a member of the Berwickshire Civic Society.
Mark enjoys the outdoors, including country sports, golf and gardening, as well as spending time with family and entertaining friends.
Scott is responsible for the commercial broking teams, claims team and for all compliance matters. Scott enjoyed ten years’ commercial underwriting experience with Eagle Star before joining Bruce Stevenson in 1998.
Scott holds a diploma from the Chartered Insurance Institute and sits on the committee for the British Insurance Brokers Association in Scotland and UNA.
In his spare time Scott enjoys music, films, reading, sports (particularly football) and family time.
