Scotland’s leading independent insurance brokers, Bruce Stevenson has become one of the key sponsors for the 2018 Borders Art Fair (16-18 March 2018).

A showcase for local artists, the Fair aims to celebrate and support creativity in the Borders and is organised by Border Arts Development C.I.C. – a not for profit organisation, created to promote projects that support and foster local talent.

Throughout the duration of the weekend over 50 galleries and artists will be exhibiting at Springwood Park in Kelso. The artists and galleries showcasing their work include The Scottish Gallery, Fidra Fine Art and Michael Batey.  Art demonstrations will also be on offer as well as artist-led workshops and talks.

The Fair will also feature a selection of ‘Local Heroes’ such as the award-winning artist Andrew MacKenzie who is the current president of Visual Arts Scotland. Each hero has been selected for their achievements, passion and skills as well as their generosity. These artists will be donating all commission from any sales made during the Borders Art Fair to Border Arts Development C.I.C to create a bursary fund for artists exhibiting in the future.

Bruce Stevenson is encouraging businesses to support local artists and creatives by purchasing a ticket for the Borders Art Fair crowd lottery; an initiative which has been developed in collaboration with fellow Sponsor, Marchmont Farms Ltd. Each ticket is only £20 and the winning business will receive the total amount raised, to be spent at this year’s Borders Art Fair.

The price includes a ticket for two to The Borders Art Fair Exclusive Private View on Thursday 15th March from 6pm – 9pm, with live band and drinks. The winner will be drawn at the Private View at 7.30pm. Tickets can be purchased on EventBrite

Frances Fergusson of the Borders Art Fair said, “We are delighted that Bruce Stevenson and Marchmont Farms Ltd have developed this initiative to encourage other businesses to support creativity in the Borders.  This is a fantastic, fun and affordable way for those businesses to get involved, and we have been thrilled with the response so far”.

The Borders Art Fair is open to the public 16th – 18th March (10am – 4pm) at Springwood Park, Kelso TD5.
