Mark Beaumont

Around the World in 80 Days – Mark Beaumont World Cycle

Our Corporate Ambassador, Mark Beaumont, best known for cycling around the world in 194 days in 2008, is to take ultra-endurance to the next level by circumnavigating the globe in less than half that time.

As a warm up to the Artemis World Cycle in July, he will first cycle around the coastline of Britain, leaving on 4th April. The 3,500 miles, 15-day training ride will be at ’80 days’ pace, with Beaumont cycling for 16 hours and 240 miles per day.

What’s the purpose?

  • THIS IS AN ATTEMPT TO CYCLE AROUND THE WORLD IN LESS THAN 80 DAYS. Despite the current Guinness World Record standing at 123 days for the fastest circumnavigation by bicycle, Mark is aiming to complete the journey in less than 80 days.
  • The Artemis World Cycle will also support the work of the Beaumont Foundation, which continues to work with Orkidstudio, a Scottish charity with truly global impact, which creates buildings and enterprises that grow and sustain communities. The Foundation will also be establishing a scholarship to support budding adventurers and broadcasters.
  • The educational program, created by Twinkl, will be followed through primary schools around the world, with the ability to reach 30 million children

Bruce Stevenson is delighted to support Mark every ‘pedal of the way’ on this journey and his ‘Round Britain’ tour.  We will be following Mark on each of his tours.
