Combined Heat and Power

Combined Heat and Power (CHP) makes use of both generated electricity and captured waste heat produced on-site to create a more energy efficient process.  The electricity can be consumed on- site or exported to the grid while the heat can be used for either on-site processes or space heating, or connected to a local district heating network to supply third parties with heat.  The technologies employed for CHP installations range from gas engines to hydrogen fuel cells.
