This is an "All Risks" insurance aimed primarily at goods which are carried by road, it can, however, be used to cover goods despatched by rail or by post.
This type of policy can be organised in two ways: -
The cover can be taken out by owners of the goods or by hauliers and can be arranged via a separate policy or can often be added to a "commercial combined" policy.
The cover provides an indemnity for accidental loss or damage to goods while being loaded on, carried by or unloaded from motor vehicles and their trailers and while temporarily garaged during transit.
