Charities - The Preshal Trust
Because no two charities are ever the same, the Charity Insurance team at Bruce Stevenson always take the time to truly understand our clients and create a tailored insurance programme to suit and respond appropriately when needed.
The Preshal Trust has been a valued client of ours for many years and we are proud to help support the incredible work that they provide. The Trust was launched by May Nicholson and MacIain Service in November 2002 and is a registered charity based in the Govan area of Glasgow. This is an area of economic and social deprivation with high unemployment, low educational attainment, poor health and serious poverty levels. The objective of the Preshal Trust is to provide support and to deliver a range of services to socially excluded people and families living in the Govan. It is the hope that Preshal offers people that offers them a genuine lifeline within their local community.
‘Preshal’ is the Gaelic for ‘precious’ and this is one of the key values that describes the care and support given to all people who access the trust’s services. The project supports a range of individuals of all ages who have addiction problems, mental health issues, disabilities, ex-offenders, prisoners and their families, infants, children, young people, parents and carers and anyone affected by social exclusion and isolation. Particular emphasis is given to its Early Intervention Youth Programme where the Trust seeks to reach young people before they take part in gang culture or anti-social behaviour.
The Trust, working with other agencies, provides a wide range of social, recreational and educational activities which enable these issues to be dealt with effectively. Each day there is a varied programme of activities and in any one week, individuals engage in pastimes such as art and craftwork, digital photography, board and table games, cooking, bowls, literacy, numeracy and IT classes.
Our Charity Insurance team looks forward to continuing our long association with The Preshal Trust and our Account Executive Carol Ward was delighted to recently receive the following testimonial from Alan Nicholson, son of original Founder, May Nicholson.
“We’ve taken advice from Bruce Stevenson for several years and their knowledge and understanding of our charitable activities is deeply appreciated.”
Bruce Stevenson beat the competition by miles both in service and cost. Bringing the face to face personal touch and delivering on time, in a clear and concise manner, make things so much easier. All in all, a first-class service delivered by a proactive and accessible team.
