Success in Our Steps Challenge

14 June 2021

Last month, several colleagues from Bruce Stevenson took part in a fundraiser for our charity of choice, SAMH (Scottish Association for Mental Health), called Steps for SAMH’.

Setting individual daily steps targets, the team exceeded their goals and collectively record 8.2 million steps across May! To put that in perspective, they collectively walked across the Atlantic from Edinburgh to Memphis, over 4,000 miles.

Aston Lark also generously donated match funding of £1000 for our SAMH Donation, bringing our total donation up to £4,400!

Top of our steps leader board was our Turriff Office Account Handler, Roy Pirie, who walked a total of 672,576 steps in May. Roughly 21,700 a day.

Well done to all the team for sticking to their goals!

“The BSIB Steps for SAMH challenge has come to a close so I wanted to thank you for the tremendous effort you put in to support the mental health cause! From the challenge beginning, all of us at SAMH have been cheering you on. We have been blown away by the hard work, determination and collaboration in supporting the mental health cause. To have raised over £4K from your team fundraising is absolutely amazing and we are so proud of the team. Seeing this support at a time when pressures on mental health are growing as a result of the pandemic has been hugely appreciated."
