Bruce Stevenson is a proud supporter and sponsor of several agriculture summer shows in Scotland. The New Deer Show on 20th and 21st July saw the start of our summer event calendar.
The initial wet forecast looked to be accurate for the New Deer Show but the weather dried out on Saturday morning and even became sunny on Sunday. The show was a great success with visitors enjoying a number of events, with the livestock judging and vintage tractor display, alongside the equestrian events on Saturday. Following the dance on Saturday night, visitors also got to enjoy the family fun day and tractor pulling, among other events.
For many, farming shows are a day out to meet up with friends, colleagues and enjoy a welcome break before the harvest starts in earnest. To others, it's a chance to see new farming machinery first-hand and the latest technological developments on offer. For agricultural businesses such as labour suppliers, contractors, feed and grain merchants, it is an opportunity to vie for the top prize at the show. Although, it's important for all supporting industries to make the effort to connect with their customers.
Bruce Stevenson was there to show our strong bonds with the agriculture industry and get the opportunity to discuss rural insurance matters. The show was a success for us, alongside meeting new and prospective clients, our stand came 2nd place in the small stand category!
Our Borders team have been attending the Border Union Show in Kelso since our Galashiels office opened in 2014. Held on the 26th and 27th July, we're proud to continue to support the Scottish Borders Chamber of Commerce and will be attending the show at the Borders Business Hub. The show is in its 206th year and is the cumulation of months of hard work and preparation. Visitors get to take part in classes ranging from Heavy Horses to the Children's Pet Show. This year, we are proud to continue to sponsor two classes, Jacob Sheep and Beef Pairs. We wish all the entrants the very best of luck!
The Border Union Show is a great chance for rural businesses to catch up with one another in a relaxed environment, and it gives exhibitors the opportunity to secure new orders and showcase new machinery and vehicles. The show also has great offerings for food and drink, along with local crafts and art. Saturday afternoon sees the end of official business and visitors head to the main ring spectacular. This year shouldn't disappoint as we’ll be watching Monster Trucks!
Fingers crossed for fine weather and a great weekend. For more information, please visit borderunion.co.uk/border-union-show/
